Make SETTLERS OF CATAN COCKTAILS based on the resources (brick, wood, ore, wool, and wheat) to celebrate International Tabletop Day this year! Or, just any day you want to get drunk and play Settlers of Catan in a festive way. Your choice.
This is from Episode 10 of “Maybe Wil Wheaton Will Show Up.” Watch Mia make these and get other ideas for your TableTop themed party in the video below:
For our ALIENS / PROMETHEUS party themed episode of Maybe Wil Wheaton Will Show Up, we cooked up a batch of Alien cupcakes to resemble how the aliens burst out of people’s stomachs with runny blood frosting. These were a big hit at our Aliens party. Mmmm, appetizing AND morbid.
Cake mix Eggs, vegetable oil, whatever it says on the back of your particular cake mix box Gummy worms Red food coloring Milk Powdered sugar
Bake the cupcakes by following the directions on the back of your yellow cake batter box (or however you usually make cupcakes if you bake from scratch).
When the cupcakes are done baking, allow them to cool slightly, then use a fork to make an indentation in the center of the cupcake.
Stick half of the gummy worm into the indentation so that the other half is sticking out like the alien.
Make royal icing by mixing in a small bowl the powdered sugar, milk, and red food coloring. WARNING: Add milk VERY gradually as it will easily become too runny.
Drizzle the red icing on in a blood pattern and enjoy!

In our HOBBIT PARTY themed episode of Maybe Wil Wheaton Will Show Up, we made a summer cocktail called the Gold Rush, and called it “Smaug’s Gold.” Smaug’s the dragon. Get it? Anyways, it was very tasty. Here’s the recipe!
Lemon juice / lemons
Mix 1 part honey to 1 part hot water to make honey syrup.
Pour 1 part honey syrup, 2 parts bourbon, and 1 part lemon juice into a cocktail shaker (or a cup if you don’t have one).
Shake well, pour into your glass, and drink up!
The golden color of this drink is very attractive and probably could be used for a number of dragon-themed things, but Smaug’s Gold just has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?
